PROCEDURE OF PAPER REVIEWING
ASPA is a peer-reviewed journal.
After receiving the manuscript, the Editors makes its initial assessment for suitability for the journal. Papers deemed suitable are then sent to a minimum of two independent expert Reviewers. The Reviewers are asked to complete their review within 2 weeks.
The review is in writing (see the review form) and concludes with an explicit recommendation to revise, reject or accept the manuscript. In case of divergent opinions of both Reviewers as to the admission of the manuscript, the final decision lies with the Editors (the third Reviewer can be consulted beforehand).
The Authors receive information about the acceptance of the paper, revisions needed or its rejection and the content of the reviews, regardless of whether the reviews are positive or negative.
The Reviewers are chosen from among recognized scientists and academics familiar with the subject field of the paper, who are not in a conflict of interest with the Authors.
The journals welcomes reviews written in an objective way. Reviewers are required to support their views with appropriate scientific arguments. Reviewers’ remarks should be specific, constructive and support the Authors in improving their manuscripts. The content of the review report is a confidential document. See also reviewers duties in our publishing ethics.
Please note, that the journal follows a double-blind review process. This means the Reviewers and Authors of the manuscript do not know their identities.
The list of Reviewers is published yearly on the journal’s website in the Reviewers section as well as in the completed yearly issue.
